Welcome to the home of [SAS], the virtual Special Air Service Regiment. Our team is based on the British Army's legendary SAS-- the world's most respected Special Forces unit. [SAS]is a group of fun-spirited, tactically-minded people playing some of the latest CQB games. The Regiment was created both by and for people who enjoy switching off from the real world for a brief period and having a good laugh while improving their skill at the games.
At The Regiment, we employ realistic weaponry, tactics, a training regime and ranking system.
The Vision
We have long been very highly respected among the SWAT3 community and have made an extremely successful transition into SWAT4; and also Raven Shield. We own and operate our own dedicated servers for Raven Shield called “[SAS] Training Ground 1.” And also [SAS] Training Ground for SWAT4. We are committed to realistic, co-operative game-play and to the continued growth of our organization based on a strong foundation of both quality training and great leadership. These two elements have been the keys to our success over the years.

Feel free to sign up for our Forum (online message board) and make an introductory posting, or you could just pop in for a game or two in either our Raven Shield or our SWAT4 game servers.

The History
The clan was founded by [SAS] Smart. He was an FSK member, when he decided to leave the team and found his own clan.
The exact foundation date is March 28th 2001. About the creation we can quote him:
[...] Creating the clan was not easy, and may have not gotten of the ground if it wasn’t for a guy who went by the name of [SAS]_One who was the first person to darken the door of the [SAS] Recruitment room. With him as my right hand man, the clan grew and grew. I really owe a lot to this guy because he shared my vision and gave up a lot of his personal time to build the clan. There are another few people who made a great contribution to the clan, Trig, Dact, Busta, and a few other names I sadly have forgotten [...]
Over the years there have been lots of highs and lows. The role play aspect was supported by the members and at one point we became the biggest and best coop clan on WON (SWAT3 Network). This is where the name ‘The Mighty’ came from.
After around 1 year leading the clan, He felt strongly that the clan was going in a direction that as clan leader he didn’t like it and he seemed unable to do anything about it. After much thought and deliberation, He decided that if the clan was going to move down that route, so far from the ideals we so proudly built it on, it wasn’t going to be as SAS. He made the decision to disband the clan...
Basically, after he tried to disband the clan, he was literally flooded with emails asking, no actually begging, that we dont allow this to happen. He has been asked by the existing members to stay on as Ldr until the clan is up and running again, and of course he accepted. So with the support of some members who still saw a future for the old SAS vision, He continued to run the clan until He found a replacement. The replacement was one of these members, [SAS]_Trig who did a great job of keeping things going.
In 2010 [SAS] is still going, stronger than ever, which is a great tribute to the work that was done by [SAS]_Smart, and built upon by the founders and all the great members since. Our Current CO is [SAS]_Shield. Who has the great job of seeing the clan evolve and flourish for the future.
